Disaster Relief Appeal Announcement

A series of tornadoes ripped through the town of Moore, Oklahoma in the middle of the afternoon on Monday, May 20th. The path of death and destruction ripped through a hospital (pictured left) and an elementary school. The toll of the damage to both life and property is still growing.

At least eight (8) Masons lost all or portions of their homes. The impact this disaster has left on the community is devastating; the aid and assistance that has been flooding in, however, has been truly heartwarming.

The Grand Lodge of Oklahoma has requested disaster relief assistance through the Masonic Service Association of North America. Make a donation today to help your brethren and friends in Oklahoma.

Many friends and family members from all across the country were “Boston Strong” for us in the wake of our recent tragedy in Boston; its time for the Masons of Massachusetts to do their part and return the favor.

In Vino Veritas: Spring Revival

Dear Brethren,

Our members have decided to donate all proceeds from the upcoming fundraiser – In Vino Veritas: Spring Revival, to the One Fund, a charity created by the State of Massachusetts in conjunction with the City of Boston to support families affected by the Boston Marathon Bombings.

If you would like to attend the charity event on May 17th, RSVP via the invitation below. (You may also edit this email as you see fit and forward it to anyone you wish to invite to the event. Receipt of the attached invitation is all that is necessary to make a reservation.)

If you are unable to attend the event in-person and would like to make a general contribution toward our overall donation, you may do so via paypal c/o the Charity Committee to treasurer [at] harvardlodge.org or by sending a check or money order payable to Harvard Lodge – Charity.

Thank you for your continued support.

WFR,

The Charity Committee

Grand Lodge Listening Tour

Following last year’s successful “Grand Lodge Listening Tour”, M.W. Richard J. Stewart will again be meeting Massachusetts Freemasons on the level in town hall-style meetings.

The focus of this year’s Listening Tour is “Massachusetts Freemasonry 2033: our Fraternity in 20 Years.” As the Craft rapidly approaches its 300th anniversary in the western hemisphere, the work we do today shall shape the landscape of the Fraternity in the years to come, it is important to discuss the opportunities and challenges we face moving forward.

We can only begin to plan for what we want our fraternity to look like when we celebrate our 300th anniversary by opening the floor for discussion with the membership base that will propel us forward to that moment.

The Listening Tour stops will each be held at 6:30pm.

The Agenda for each of the tour stops is as follows:

6:30pm Welcome
6:35pm Grand Master’s Opening Remarks
6:45pm Presentation
7:00pm Conversation
9:00pm Collation
The dates and locations for this year’s Listening Tour are:

Tuesday, April 30: New Bedford
Saturday, May 11: Boston
Wednesday, May 29: Brockton

Registration is now open. Visit MassMasons.org to attend an event.

Masonic License Plate

Brethren,

The phrase wear your heart on your sleeve indicates you openly wear your emotions. Why not show your support of the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory (MMRR) by getting a Masonic license plate, and wear your heart on your car. $28 of every $40 application fee goes directly to fund lifesaving research. The Masonic Medical Research Laboratory (MMRL) is dedicated to improving the health and quality of life for all humankind. The Laboratory’s primary mission is to conduct high quality basic medical research aimed at generating knowledge and information necessary for development of the medical cures and treatments of tomorrow. The Laboratory is also committed to providing education and training to basic scientists and clinical researchers who would perpetuate and extend the fight against disease. MMRL is a state-of-the-art medical research facility engaged in studies involving major health issues facing society today such as, ischemic heart disease, cardiac arrhythmias, sudden cardiac arrest and other aspects of cardiovascular disease.

Brethren I am asking you to seriously consider applying for a Masonic License Plate. For just 6 cents a day you can make a difference. Did you know you do not have to be a Mason to get a plate? Masonic plates are open to all Massachusetts residents. Why not consider getting one for your significant other, it is certainly cheaper than the roses and candy you bought earlier this month. Application and request for low numbers are attached. Please forward this to all the masons you know.

Thank you,

RW Paul Bushey
